Trading Calculator – Formula Guide

The Jaja Finex Trading Calculator helps traders understand margin requirements, pip value, and swap charges before placing CFD trades. Below are simplified formulas used for trading calculations across Forex, Commodities, Indices, and other instruments.

Margin Calculation

Margin is the amount required to open a leveraged trading position. It depends on trade value and leverage.

Required Margin = Trade Value ÷ Leverage

Trade Value = Lots × Contract Size × Asset Price
Leverage = Account leverage (e.g. 1:500 → use 500)

Pip Value Calculation

Pip value shows how much profit or loss changes when the price moves by one pip.

Pip Value = Pip Size × Lots × Contract Size

This calculation helps traders estimate risk and potential returns before entering a trade.

Swap Calculation (Points Based)

Swap is an overnight charge applied when a trading position is kept open beyond market close.

Swap = Lots × Contract Size × Point Size × Swap Rate

Swap rates may differ for long and short positions depending on the traded instrument.

Swap Calculation (Percentage Based)

Some instruments apply swap charges as a percentage of trade value.

Swap = (Trade Value × Swap Rate ÷ 100) ÷ 360

Percentage-based swaps are typically used for indices and equity CFDs.

How the Trading Calculator Works

The Jaja Finex Trading Calculator combines margin, pip value, and swap calculations to help traders estimate the total cost, risk, and potential impact of a trade before execution.

Margin Requirement

Determines how much capital is required to open a leveraged position based on trade value and leverage.

Pip Value

Shows how much profit or loss changes with every price movement, helping you manage risk effectively.

Swap Charges

Estimates overnight holding costs when a trade is kept open beyond the trading session.

By combining margin, pip value, and swap calculations, traders gain a clear understanding of capital requirements, risk exposure, and overnight holding costs—enabling more informed trading decisions. All trading calculations shown above are indicative and may vary based on market conditions, leverage settings, and instrument specifications. Always review contract details before placing a trade.
